Week 7 - That's Him...Do you feel it?

Heyoooo

This week was pretty legit.  Tuesday we had interviews with the President! He's great.  Sister Lewis took a bunch of pics that are on the Mission Blog if anyone is interested in that lol.  Then we ate some Arbys with some of our Elders.
The highlight of the week was most definitely going to the temple with Josilyn! She brought 54 family names!!! She's so incredibly strong in the gospel already, its insane! The spirit in the temple was awesome and then we got to go to Costa Vida.  Best thing EVER! And yes I ate the whole burrito in case you were wondering.
I met this crazy man... we knocked on his door and he came out to talk to us.  He told us a lot of weird stories.  But i think he was Schizophrenic so its okay.  Heres some stuff he said: My wife is missing but the authorities took down my missing signs, my wife is a prostitute, I almost gave my son away, I like to tear down yardsale signs to help out the community, I'm basically living the life of Jesus except people don't spit on me, one time I prayed for a cigarette and God answered my prayers cause I found a brand new one on the road only 5 steps away, The Elders tricked me and told me there was church at 8 but no one showed up so I only trust the girls now.  And then he stopped mid sentence a few times when the wind picked up and was like "Thats him... do you feel it? Hes in the wind.  Thats god talking to me".  Then he told us he goes by Jesus (He's hispanic) Because he thinks hes similar to Jesus.  Anywayyyys he was super sweet and loves God.  Just didn't make a whole lot of sense....
For YSA activities this week we went to a BBQ on monday and then Thursday we played Volleyball.  Super fun! Tonight we get to go to a bonfire so that'll be awesome! I've made a lot of friends in the YSA ward so I'm gonna be sad to leave it... yikes I don't wanna think about it yet.
We helped with the General Women's Broadcast on Saturday night.  All the women here did a big service project and everyone brought cupcakes! The Broadcast was AWESOME and I can't wait for conference this week! BOOOO YAAAA!
It's getting pretty chilly outside but the weather is a bit bipolar so I'm not sure what to expect this week... I don't have a coat yet though so hopefully all is well!
I've been studying a lot of old conference talks in personal study which is so cool.  But lemme tell ya, the Book of Mormon is where its at.  I have learned so many new things! Its just amazing.  It's no wonder the BOM is the Keystone to our religion.  READ IT Y'ALL!
As far as investiagtors, we have quite a bit of them right now but none that are really progressing... We met a girl named Kalee and committed her to be baptized but no date yet.  Hopefully she keeps progressing, shes super awesome.  Shes a recovering addict and has been clean for 6 years now! Plus she just got a new puppy thats soooo adorable and makes me wanna cry tears of joy.  So I love going over there :)
Hope all is well back in the 801! If you get bored read Jacob chapter 5.  Its a good one.

Week 6 - Sup Fam

Camri's spirits are good. She feels great. She said she is not questioning her decision to serve a mission and she is having the time of her life.
She mentions over and over about all the cool people she is meeting. Thanks for all of your support.

What a week! Some fun/crazy/spiritual stuff happened.
We went and sang hymns at a rest home for zone service and it totally made me think of all my cute residents back at Country Lane! Gosh I miss them.
The Spanish elders are freaking awesome and keep getting referrals for us! (Elder Turley and Bucahnon.  They're fam) Buuuut the referrals haven't turned out so great... hahahah.  The first one, we went and tried to find this house but couldn't find it so we asked the guy walking down the street if he knew where house 512 was because we were looking for Jenny.  Then he freaked out and was like "I'm 512! Did she send you? Am I being punked?"  Then he made us call this chick named Ruby for him and he got mad at her for sending "Church Girls" LOL.  Umm yeah pretty sure he was about to go through with a drug deal with Ruby.  So that was awkward.  We never did find Jenny :/
Then that same day we went to the second referral they gave us.  It went a little better... it was a family.  It was going okay until they invited thier friend over to ask us questions.  Not gonna lie, she had some pretty good questions.  Her main one was "How can you believe there is a God with all of the terrible things happening in the world to innocent people?"  We tried to explain agency of man.  But she was kinda bashing with us.   It made me sad because she was different from the other bashers.  i could tell she was really hurting over something and she was angry.  But it didn't matter what we said, she was still going to leave not believing in a God.  I cried afterwards cause I felt sad for her.  Lol.  My tears are shed over some crazy things.
We had Zone Conference on Friday so that was legit! We talked a lot about door approaches which I definitely need practice with.  And we got to see Pres. Lewis and his wife which is always great because they treat us so good :')
YSA ward is going great because its a blast and a half! Theres a girl named Sunnie who was deciding on whether to go on a mission or not and I talked to her about my experience deciding to go and our stories are very similar! It was so cool.  And she has decided to serve a mission so thats super exciting! Shes great.  The YSA ward played scooter soccer last week and it was so fuuuuun haha but I was way sore the next day.
Heres another cool story.  Kinda sketch.  So we were going tracting and our goal was to get inside someones house and teach them that day.  It was getting late.  Probably about 7:30.  Second door we knock on, this guy with no shirt on answered.  And I looked down by his hip and he was holding a gun.... immediately my stomach dropped to the floor and my mind zoned out of what was going on.  Sister Wadman didn't see it.  He then leaned forward and saw our nametags and then put the gun into his pocket and invited us in... We had to ask if there was a woman home and there was so we started going in... I stopped and checked with the spirit though and it felt okay lol no worries fam.  But! It was a miracle knock! Turns out it was a part member fam.  The man with the gun was only protecting his family and I don't think he knew I even saw his gun.  He's harmless.  His wife Kaela is an inactive member but is going to church again and is working towards going to the temple because her daughter turns 12 soon.  The husband Shaun is a nonmember.  He is very sarcastic and in a crude way but you can tell hes actually a softie on the inside.  He believes the book of mormon is true but doesn't' want to stop drinking beer and coffee.  When we left we asked if they needed anything and the wife was like "yeah.  I need you guys to baptize my husband".  Lol so then they invited us back for dinner this week and we're gonna try to start teaching him!
The Elders scared us one night.  We pulled into our apartment and they sneaked up on the car and pounded on the windows.  I almost had a heart attack... pretty funny though.
I GET TO GO TO THE TEMPLE ON FRIDAY! Josilyn, the new convert, got her temple recommend and so we get to go with her for her first time to do baptisms.  I am so excited! It'll be awesome.
I'm doing good! I love my companion and the zone.  I love learning and teaching about Jesus Christ everyday! Seriously, he's the best.
I hope y'all are doing good and being good.  OH! MY beautiful bff Lindsay gets married this week! Give her some love for me.  They're the cutest.
Love you all! Talk next week! :)

Heres some picsss
1. This is Emalee Bowes.  She left for her mission last week to Texas so we took her out to lunch with us
2. The majestic view of Moses Lake.  Beautiful huh? hahaha
3. This is one of our investigators, Cloe! She's 13 and super cute.  She was suppose to get baptized but then got grounded.  Lol we're working on it.  She said she wants to be a missionary like us one day :')
4. This is from zone conference on Friday.  These are the AP's.  Good people.
5. Selfie Selfie.
6. This is from last week, but this is Josilyn at her baptism! That's who we're going to the temple with.  Shes freaking awesome.

Week 5 - No Sleep for the Righteous

Ya like my subject line? Seriously though sleep isn't even a thing around here.  But it's alright.  I'll sleep in a year and a half.
Ohhhh this week was just dandy! So much happens so I'll just summarize ya feel?
We went to the food bank on Wednesday and Thursday morning and sorted some corn... fun stuff. "Get that corn outta my face!" - Nacho Libre
Then we went to this one families house and helped them rip out their carpet because they're remodeling.  Pretty legit because they are now new investigators! It's a family of 5.  Joey and Annette, and then their daughter natalie who is 13.  They also have to little toddlers.  They're freaking awesome and they love learning about the gospel! Aaaaand they've gone to church two weeks in a row now so boo yaaa.  They've definitely been prepared by God.
Also on Wendesday we helped an old lady move her bench and then we spray painted it.  Wednesday was so full of service and IT WAS SO FUN.  Best day eva.  And to top it off, JOSILYN GOT BAPTIZED! Her fam came and obviously still weren't happy about the whole thang but they were nice to us.  Josilyn is so cute and so sweet and just so awesome.  She's getting family names to take to the temple and we'll get to go with her her first time to do baptisms and I'm super super stoked!
We ate dinner with the Chivers family on Tuesday and they helped us make a bottle rocket for the ward party (ours was legit btw).  The Chivers fam was really nice and they gave me a glass cup for my milk hahahah.  I explained to them that milk always tastes better from a glass but we don't have any glass at the apartment.  Then when we were leaving, Brother Chivers gave me a glass :') #GodBless
So I play soccer all the freaking time here and I've gotten better not gonna lie... yesterday I made two goals.  I sent a vid to UVU and they already offered me a scholarship.... Just kidding.  Lol but its been fun.  We played with the YSA ward on Thursday night too and I just laugh my crap off the whole time because I'm a spazz.  It's whatever though.
Theres tons of different churches here! You drive down the road and see like 4 different religions so its kind of cool.  I got bashed on for the first time this week.... we walked up to a guy in his front yard.  He told us that Joseph Smith is a liar and there's no proof of anything.  He told us "You look like smart girls so go ponder on that tonight".  Hhahahahahah I was SO PISSED.  But I just shook his hand and was like, ya know I've prayed about it and had my answer.  I don't need proof from the world because I have an answer from God.  My fists were clenched though and I'm pretty sure my lip was quivering.  But it's okay.  He's just not prepared yet.  Maybe one day.  I prayed for him.  Still love him even though he was a jackhole.
Sister Wadmans birthday was yesterday! WAHOO! We ate dinner with some sisters from the singles ward and it was fun.  It made me miss all my homegirls back home! And then that night me and Sis. Wadman baked a cake and threw a birthday party with just me and her :')
The smoke is clearing up from the fires around which is a huge blessing.
So I figured something out about myself... i don't express myself well in large groups of people that I don't know.  I feel super uncomfortable and its frustrating because I just wanna be able to be myself but I can't.  BUT! Don't worry I'm doing way better now and people know I'm just a nut :') So its cool haha and now I feel like myself again.
Thats about it.  Love you all and miss ya!
Here's something to ponder.  In Lehis dream of the tree of life, he repeats the phrase "The tree by which I stood" 3 times.  Which means its important.  Sis. Wadman explained this to me btw.  The tree of life represents Gods love which represents Jesus Christ.  Lehi is saying he stands by Jesus Christ.  The thought that came to my mind was "Lehi is letting people know he stands by Jesus Christ.  Where do I stand?"
We should all try to let people know where we stand, and hopefully it's by Jesus Christ.  :)
Fun facts from the week: There is a taco bell here and I ate there twice in a row #SorryNotSorry, Nutella is now one of my fav things, there's weird people wherever you go in the world not just Utah, Sis. Wadman is scared of spiders so I have to kill them.

And Pics!
1. My cardboard box apartment
2. You can never have too many car selfies
3. Our cute rocket.  He have a pic with it but its on Sis. Wadmans camera....
4. Eating dinner with the YSA sisters :)
5. PARTY! And yes we used the self timer to take the pic haha
Theres way cuter pics on Sister Wadmans camera but this is all I got for now... oops.
Love y'all!!!

Week 4 - This Definitely Isn't Utah Anymore

Camri is in her first area in a place called Moses Lake. It goes to the Canadian border. She is doing great and really enjoying her mission. The mission blog that she refers to in the end of the e-mail is https://yakimamission.wordpress.com. It is done by Sister Lewis, the mission president's wife.

OMGoodness I'm in Washington!
Sooo when the plane was pulling in I looked out the window and was like,
"Ahhh heck nah".  All I saw was rolling hills of brown and it looked like
the lonely and dreary world that Adam and Eve were cast into. and then we
went into this tiny little airport.  So small.  But thats where I met
President Lewis and his wife! Gosh they're so sweet.  I didn't sleep like
at all that whole night so I was exhausted and slept like a baby as soon as
I could which wasn't until Tuesday night.
I met my companion on Wednesday! Her name is Sister Wadman and shes from
Harrisville, Utah.  Shes been out for about 11 months now.  We get along
way good and I love her lots! Our area is Moses Lake 2nd Ward and YSA.  Not
gonna lie, being in a YSA ward is the bombshiz.  We get to go to all of
their activites with them.  The downer to it though is that I have to go to
6 hours of church every sunday.  So y'all should never complain about 3
hours again aight?
Being a missionary is weird because people think we're weirdos.  And
knocking on strangers doors has been the hardest part for me.  Haha its so
awkward.... but I just wish they understood the blessings that could come.
Oh! I get to go to a baptism on Wednesday.  Her name is Josilyn.  She's 19
and super solid in the gospel.  Her fam doesn't want her getting baptized
so it's way sad.  but shes super sweet and I'm excited that I get to go to
her baptism and be a part of that.
Right now we're teaching a 15 year old boy named Nick.  He wants to be
baptized but we haven't gotten permission from his parents yet so we're
going to ask tonight! Pray that their hearts will be softened haha.
We talked to these two 16 year old boys and one didn't believe in God and
did not understand why they heck we were serving missions.  We gave him
pamphlets and I assured him i'm not some phsyco girl.  Haha he didn't seem
too convinced.  He said he believes in science which totally reminded me of
Nacho Libre when Steven says "I believe in Science" hahah I miss TV.  But
it's all good.
Oh I ate some weird stuff.  I'm pretty sure the member was vegan.  She fed
us stir fry and it actually wasn't bad but the "meat" was tofu.  sooooo
yeah.  that was a new thing for me to experience...
I'm doing great though! I don't get to email as long as I could in the MTC
so that sucks.  Fun facts: We drive a 2016 Toyota Corolla, our apartment
looks like a cardboard box, our beds are in the living room, and I've eaten
frosted flakes for breakfast everyday this week.
Thats about it folks! Until next time.  Oh me and Sis. Wadman always tell
each other a miracle of the day and its super cool.  So try to recognize a
miracle in your life everyday.  Its fun.  :)

Also!!! Birthday shoutouts.  Happy Birthday to Hunter last week.  And happy
birthday to Kade on the 9th! My bro's are growing up so quick :') Love you
guys.
